LEGACY RELOADED
Flagz Mas Band presents "Legacy Reloaded", a 6-month cultural arts programme starting in 2025, to engage young people aged 10 to 17 across London and Birmingham.
Through a series of active workshops, participants will learn the history and legacy of carnival arts, starting with costume making, wire bending, and traditional craft techniques.
ENGAGING FUTURES
We partnered with Trinity House Community Resource Centre (Manchester) and Holford Drive Sports Hub
(Birmingham) to deliver a youth-led project using carnival as a gateway to deeper conversations.
Facilitators guided sessions using creative writing, choreography, and visual arts to help young people reflect on personal and social issues.

HISTORY AT JERSEY
Flagz Mas makes history at Jersey's Battle of Flowers 2023. This marks the first time a mas band has been included in the Battle of Flowers, highlighting the cultural impact beyond Notting Hill.
The event, with history dating back to 1902, traditionally features flower decorated floats. This shift to including mas bands encourages new audiences and signals a more inclusive future for the parade.
AFRICA UNITE
In 2023, Island Records collaborated with Flagz Mas to launch the Bob Marley 'Africa Unite' album at the Notting Hill Carnival.
This exciting collaboration showcased the album and celebrated Bob Marley's enduring legacy of unity and his connection to Africa and the diaspora. Flagz Mas designed a vibrant float and costumes that created a powerful and unified platform for the Africa Unite album.
